El Paso may be a desert, but that doesn't mean we don't get rain, and a lot of the time, we get a ton of rain all at once which leads to flooding. If you have problems with flooding in your area, sandbags come in handy. Unfortunately, we tend not to get them until we really need them. El Paso Water Utilities is trying to get out ahead of the summer monsoon season by making their sandbags available beginning next week.

Sandbags are free, but there is a limit of 15 bags per visit. If you can't lift heavy items, EPWU asks that you bring someone with you who can help you load and unload the bags.
