When Will El Paso Finally Get Its First Frost of Fall? Here’s What the Experts Say
If you're like me, you are so over this heat! This summer has been one of the hottest summers I've ever experienced and I am ready for it to be over!
Unfortunately for me, I live in El Paso AKA the Sun City where fall takes a little longer to get here and the same goes for winter!
I'll admit that when it does get a little cooler in El Paso, it's real nice. Sometimes we get a day or two of beautiful snow and we completely forget about the dreaded summer days!
If you can't wait for that, then you better get the San Marco cobijas ready because according to the Farmers Almanac, it's going to be a cold one this year!
But before we get into winter, I'm sure you clicked on this article to see when we can expect a drop in temperature for the fall season, and when we can see a little bit of frost in our front yards!
What is a "Frost Date"?
A frost date is the average date of the last light freeze in spring or the first light freeze in fall.
According to the Almanac, El Paso can expect to see the first frost of the fall season on November 14- just in time for the Thanksgiving holiday!
The Almanac does say that the frost date is just a prediction, it's possible that the frost could come before or after that predicted date. Either way- I'm sure many El Pasoans are ready to say "bye-bye" to this heatwave!
