All four of the City of El Paso's water parks will open for the season this Memorial Day weekend.

After a 3-year-old boy drowned on May 13 during the Northeast water park’s “soft opening,” there was a question if the summer season would be delayed.

According to a report on a local news station, the ongoing investigation will not affect their previously scheduled openings. All El Paso Water Parks will open daily as planned on Saturday, May 27.

Chapoteo is located down the street from Lionel Forti Park at 1225 Giles in the Lower Valley, Lost Kingdom sits in the Bassett Place area at 6001 Hughey.

Camp Cohen is on the Northeast in the former Cohen Stadium site. The Far East has Oasis inside the "The Beast" Regional Park near the intersection of Montana and Hueco Club Road.

While they all have the same basic water features, such as water slides, climbing walls, lazy river current channels, and kiddie playgrounds, each has its own unique theme and signature feature.

Oasis, for example, is home to Flash Flood Rush, a wave simulator. The surfing water attraction is the only one of its kind in all of West Texas and Southern New Mexico.
