2nd Annual Locals Week Features Homegrown El Paso Musicians
The El Paso International Music Foundation is hosting Locals Week, beginning September 25 – September 29, 2019.
In June of 2019, The El Paso International Music Foundation celebrated their first-year anniversary. Throughout the year, the non-profit organization has provided local musicians with various workshops, mixers, music business education, and community outreach initiatives.
One of those initiatives includes bridging local artists and the El Paso community during Locals Week. Locals Week took place at nine different venues in and around the downtown area with bands and artists ranging from rock, jazz to hip-hop.
Last year Locals Week drew over 2,000 attendees and this year it returns bigger and better than ever with an even longer roster of musicians, bands and venues across the city of El Paso. This year’s venues will include, Good Times, Love Buzz, San Carlos Building, The Lowbrow Palace, B-17’s Oyster Pub, INTL, Monarch, Neon Rose, The District, Pizza Joint, and the El Paso Street Car.
The public is invited to support El Paso’s local musicians during Locals Week with many of the shows charging no cover or a minimal cover charge of $5. At least five of the venues will also be open to people of all ages with the rest set at 21+.
The El Paso International Music Foundation’s intent during Locals Week is to highlight and shed a spotlight on our city’s talented musicians to further their mission of connecting the El Paso community and its local artists.
