El Paso Will Join ‘Make Music Day’ Around The World On June 21st
El Paso will join the global Make Music Day celebration on Tuesday, June 21, 2022.
The origins of Make Music Day were first initiated in France as the Fête de la Musique in the early 80s. Today the free worldwide music celebration is held on the same day in more than 1,000 cities across 120 countries, including El Paso.
Make Music Day is open to anyone who wants to take part. No matter the musical background or skill level, everyone of all ages and musical persuasion are encouraged to bring their music outdoors to share with friends, neighbors, and strangers.
For the third year, the El Paso International Music Foundation is hosting Make Music El Paso with a full line-up of in-person and online events on Tuesday, June 21, 2022, across the Sun City.
The day's events include local performances by Texas Hart, Raymon Arreola, 1-800 (A rhythm band jam) along with Bucket drumming, a city-wide jam session, a harmonica class, ukulele class, and more.
The free concert at Keystone Heritage Park / El Paso Botanical Gardens will begin at 10 am with a break at midday, returning in the evening with more performances. Attendees are highly encouraged to take plenty of drinking water, sunscreen, and a blanket to sit on.

We strongly encourage everyone to take the day (during the summer solstice - the longest day of the year) – to make music in their homes, neighborhoods, or wherever the music takes them.
For anyone who would like to participate, tag your musical experiences at #makemusicelpaso; selected entries will be shared on the Make Music El Paso Facebook and other local music pages.
