Montwood High School’s baseball team was set to play in a best-of-three series in Artesia, New Mexico this past weekend. Instead, the team abruptly came home under a cloud of suspicion that involved the alleged hazing of underclassmen by seniors on the team. The Socorro Independent School District confirmed the forfeiture because of player misconduct.

This morning, Mike and I were discussing the incident and the news reports about the steps the Socorro Independent School District is going to follow in their investigation of the incident. We were surprised when we got a call from Maribel Macias, SISD's Assistant Superintendent for Administrative Services, who was willing to talk with us on the air and answer some tough questions about the alleged hazing.

We came away feeling like we learned quite a bit about the way SISD is handling this incident, and we will follow up with Ms. Macias this week to get more information on the outcome of their investigation.

Thank you so much to Ms. Macias for calling in and being so willing to speak with our listeners about this story.
