The first place team is awarded $1000 toward their drone club needs.

Why a Drone Challenge?

This event has been built in conjunction with educational focused STEAM activities in order to help boost participants’ STEAM knowledge. STEAM skills and knowledge are essential for student success in 21st-century jobs. Public & Private Sectors are reporting that many 21st-century students are graduating without skills that are key to their success. Students need more in-depth knowledge of math and science, plus the ability to integrate and apply that knowledge to solve the challenges facing our region.

STEAM students develop a variety of skills that are essential for success including critical thinking and problem solving, creativity and innovation, communication, collaboration, and entrepreneurship. Every participating drone club team automatically receives a cash scholarship toward their drone club. These funds are used for club related materials needed, entry fees, and more.

If your business would like to sponsor a local drone club, please contact Rebeca Rodriguez at Rebeca.rodriguez@townsquaremedia.com for more information.

This event is proudly supported by local community partners: YISD, Western Tech, TFCU, and Johnson Jewelers.
