3 More Great El Paso “Rock” Concerts for the Rest of November
Thanksgiving will be in the rearview before we know it but there are still some great live shows coming in the month of November.
The music includes everything from O.G.'s death metal to Eighties synthesizer pop.
Here, in chronological order are the three can’t-miss concerts for the rest of November.
1.) Napalm Death, Wednesday, November 16
This one is at the Rock House Bar & Grill. Napalm Death is one of the INVENTORS of death metal and grindcore.
These guys already had multiple albums out when Cannibal Corpse was still just a Cannibal Warm Body. This show, with openers Brujeria, is a must-see for all extreme metal fans out there.
Here’s Jim Carrey doing his Napalm Death impersonation thirty years ago on “The Arsenio Hall Show”…
2.) Goo Goo Dolls, Sunday, November 20th
Goo Goo Dolls are a band that played one of our KLAQ Downtown Street Festivals back in 2016.
This time around, they’ll be playing at the Plaza Theatre on their Chaos in Bloom Tour. For a band that going on forty years together, the main vocalists, guitarist Johnny Rzeznik and bassist Robby Takac still make up the core of the group.
If you’re nostalgic for the pop/rock sounds that dominated Nineties rock radio, don’t miss this one!
3.) Anything Box, Friday, November 25th
Wrap up the month with 80’s synthpop favorites, Anything Box. This is another club show at the Rockhouse Bar and Grill at 9828 Montana.
It’s the day after Thanksgiving. So, if you graduated anytime between 1985 and 1993 and “Less Than Zero” was your favorite movie AND book, this might be the perfect “Friendsgiving” get-together for you and your old crew.
Besides, you’ll NEED to get out of the house and the whole Black Friday-Door-Buster scene is so 2011.
