UPDATE: Juno the Elephant Is Doing Well Says El Paso Zoo
Juno the elephant has responded well after treatment for a malignant tumor according to the El Paso Zoo.
Back in January of this year, Juno was diagnosed with a malignant tumor and in March underwent electrochemotherapy. The El Paso Zoo along with the team of veterinarians say that Juno has responded well to the treatment and is up and walking around but will continue to be monitored closely.
At this time it is too early to say whether or not Juno will require another round of treatment but that assessment will come in the weeks to follow, but as of now everyone is happy with the results.
Juno is a 49-year-old Asian elephant that is considered endangered according to the International Union for the Conservation of Nature Red List.
