The City’s Health Department and El Paso Restaurants Join Together To Help Combat Childhood Obesity
It's not easy to make sure your kids eat properly.
They turn up their nose at fruits and veggies, but will chow down on soda and candy like Buddy the Elf. Add parents who rely on fast food because of hectic schedules, and you have the recipe for an overweight child. The City of El Paso's Department of Public Health is trying to fix that by teaming with local restaurants as part of their Eat Well! initiative.
More than 20 El Paso area restaurants have tweaked their menus with healthier options designed specifically for kids. There are also adult menus that are geared toward healthier eating. The restaurants below are new to the program, and they are all local, so go enjoy something tasty and healthy, and support local restaurants in the process.
A full list of participating restaurants, as well as info on becoming a part of the Eat Well! program, can be found on the City's website.
