Flavortown finally discovers Chuco Town. After 30 seasons and over 350 episodes, Diners, Drive-ins, and Dives will at long last highlight some of our city's best.

As KISS-FM was the first to report, Tasty Kabob will be the first eatery ever from the 915 to appear on Guy Fieri's popular Food Network Show. The family-owned Middle Eastern/Persian restaurant in west El Paso is one of a handful of diners and dives the self-proclaimed Mayor of Flavortown dropped in on with camera crew in tow when he showed up in El Paso this past March.

Tucked away in a strip mall on the corner of Mesa and Thunderbird, catty-corner from Lloyd’s Pub, Tasty Kabob has been -- as the episode description states -- serving up "real-deal recipes from the homeland" since June 2017.

The restaurant is owned by Eshi Henry and Reza Ostovar who were both born in Iran but have lived in El Paso for pretty much all of their adult lives.

“The recipes come from my husband, Reza Ostovar,” Henry told El Paso Inc. in a recent interview “They come from our homeland.” While it's not known which of their dishes the spike-haired Fieri will be sampling, the Ghormeh Sabzi, Doner kebab, and braised lamb shank get a lot of rave Yelp reviews.
