A couple of years ago, we had a stretch of lows in the teens, and it caused a lot of havoc all over the city.  Well, get ready, because tonight, we're going to drop into the teens!

Freezing Temps Hit El Paso

Back in February, 2011, water pipes froze, there were rolling blackouts, and riots broke out in the water and PopTart aisles at Walmart!  It was the end of the world as we knew it!

The good news this time is the weather is only going to drop into the teens for tonight.  The low will be 17 degrees, to be exact, but that doesn't mean you still shouldn't watch out for the '3 P's' - pets, pipes, and plants.

1.  Pets - Bring them into the house, or at the very least, inside the garage with something warm to lay down on.

2.  Pipes - Wrap those suckers up!  You don't need a fancy shmancy pipe insulator, just some t-shirts or towels, and some duct tape.

3.  Plants - bring in any plants you don't want to turn into popsicles.

Also, check on any elderly friends or neighbors to make sure they have a safe heating source.  Make sure they, and you, aren't using your stove or oven for heating - they are a fire and carbon monoxide poisoning hazard.

Be warm tonight and tomorrow!
