Another Day of School Delays Due To Extreme Winter Weather in El Paso, TX
Winter weather in El Paso Brings School Delays for Friday, January 10th.
El Paso residents FINALLY got a taste of Winter this past Thursday as winter weather made an appearance in the Borderland. Snow was in the forecast, and freezing temperatures, and schools across the region took precautions to ensure the safety of students and staff, implementing early release for Thursday, January 9th.

Delayed Start Announcements
SOCORRO ISD
Due to inclement weather, Socorro ISD will operate on a delayed start schedule tomorrow, Jan. 10. All schools will start two hours from their normal starting time. Morning Pre-K three-year-old classes are canceled for the day. Transportation will be provided two hours from normal pick-up times. Breakfast service will be provided per the two-hour delay. As more information is available, updates will be provided via the district website at www.sisd.net, phone messages, social media, the news media, and/or the District Service Center.
SAN ELIZARIO ISD
Due to uncertainty in weather conditions tomorrow, Friday, January 10, 2025, and possible hazardous road conditions, San Elizario ISD will operate on a 1 hour and 30-minute delayed start schedule.

- Sambrano Elementary School
- Alarcon Elementary School
- Borrego Elementary School
- Secondary Schools will begin at 9:35 AM:
- Garcia-Enriquez Middle School
- San Elizario High School
Bus stops will operate on a 1 hour and 30-minute delay from regular pick-up times. Should weather require additional schedule changes or cancellations, families and staff will be informed no later than 5:00 PM the day before. Anthony ISD
Due to inclement weather expected in the area, Anthony ISD plans to operate on a 2-hour delayed start to the school day on Friday, January 10. We will continue to monitor weather conditions and notify the community of any additional changes or new information through phone calls, emails, social media, and local media channels.
FABENS ISD
Given the low wind chill and cold temperatures predicted overnight, Fabens ISD has made the decision to impose a two-hour delay on all campuses and offices on Friday, January 10, 2025
El Paso Community College
Due to inclement weather and unsafe road conditions, EPCC will have a delayed start on Friday, January 10, 2025.
The college will resume normal operations at 10:00 a.m. The safety of our campus community is our priority.

EL PASO COUNTY OFFICES
The El Paso County Courthouse and its satellite offices will delay opening until 10 a.m. on Jan. 10, 2025, for all non-essential staff due to weather and road conditions. If you are an employee with questions, please contact your supervisor.
DACC
Doña Ana Community College (DACC) will announce updates regarding reopening and normal operations on its Facebook page and website at https://dacc.nmsu.edu.
CITY OF LAS CRUCES
Cold temperatures and icy roadways have led to City of Las Cruces non-emergency operations operating on a modified schedule tomorrow, Jan. 10. Warming stations will remain open as previously announced.
DOÑA ANA COUNTY OFFICES
Doña Ana County’s Government Center and administrative offices will continue to monitor weather conditions closely and provide updates regarding Jan. 10 operations via social media and www.donaanacounty.org.
DOÑA ANA COURTS
The Third Judicial District Court and the Doña Ana County Magistrate Courts will monitor weather conditions for updates to Jan. 10 schedules.
CITY OF SOCORRO
Due to inclement weather, classes at the Rio Vista & Chayo Apodaca Community Center will be canceled and close at 5 PM on Jan. 10. Please call the office at (915) 860-8615 with questions.
