If you've lived through even one summer here you know we're going to be needing some relief from the heat by the end of May. If water fun is the goal over the Memorial Day weekend, your choices are varied.

All four El Paso Water Parks -- Camp Cohen, Chapoteo, Lost Kingdom, and Oasis -- will open daily starting Saturday, May 27.

While they all have the same basic water features, such as water slides, climbing walls, lazy river current channels, and kiddie playgrounds, each has its own unique theme and signature feature. Private cabanas are available for rental, and food is sold on site.

The Ascarate Pool in Ascarate Park will also be making its summer debut on Memorial Day. The aquatic center houses an Olympic size outdoor pool as well as a small pool for children. Adding to the fun factor are slides for kids and adults, and an enclosed picnic area with shaded BBQ grills.

Then there's Wet 'N Wild, the 60-acre homegrown water park just outside El Paso in Anthony. With slides and attractions, a humongous wave pool, cabanas, and lots of shade trees, Wet 'N Wild has lots of ways to cool off, get wet, grill some burgers and ‘dawgs, and chill with the fam.

Baseball and Fireworks

Kicking back after the game to “ooh” and “aah” as the skyline explodes into a colorful canopy of red, white and boom is a post-game highlight for many baseball-loving El Pasoans.

Memorial Day Weekend, the Chihuahuas will continue the popular tradition of fireworks nights on Saturday, May 28. The game is part of a weekend home stand versus the Sugar Land Space Cowboys.

Sunday’s game will include a Memorial Day Remembrance honoring the men and women who have lost their lives serving our country.

Chiquis Concert

Do you like Chiquis Rivera's music? Want to see her in an outdoor setting and not have to pay to get in? Speaking Rock is your best friend, then. The singer-performer and daughter of the late Jenni Rivera will be taking the stage Saturday, May 28, at The Rock.

Ysleta High Ghost Tour

If you're into the spooky stuff and like investigating locations said to be haunted, The Ysleta High School Medical Professions Organization and Paso Del Norte Paranormal Society are teaming up for a ghost tour of the historic Lower Valley school on Saturday, May 28.
