What is your definition of a superhero? Many might say it is about fighting a villain and saving the day.
For 5-year-old Alexis, he uses the strength he sees his favorite superheroes use to fight his battle of chronic kidney disease.

Make-A-Wish North Texas El Paso Regional Office granted his wish of having a super-hero themed party and being a police officer for a day, Alexis' definition of a superhero. Make-A-Wish is able to grant wishes to children, like Alexis, who face life-threatening medical conditions because of the help and support provided by the community of El Paso.

The 2016 Walk for Wishes is a great way to be a part of bringing hope, strength and joy to our courageous El Paso children! Sign up at walkforwishes.org to be a part of this fundraising event on Wednesday, April 9 at the Fountains at Farah. Registration is $20 for adults and $10 for children and starts at 7:30 a.m. Festivities include a Kids’ Zone, vendor booths and t-shirts.

Just like Alexis, proudly wearing his police uniform, children of all ages are encouraged to dress up as their favorite super hero. We want to celebrate these children, who are heroes each and every day they fight to live a healthy life.
