If You Feel The Need For Speed It’s Because ‘Top Gun’ Turns 30 Today

30 years ago today, the world was introduced to Maverick, Goose, Ice Man, and the hot Navy fliers of 'Top Gun'.

The movie was not a huge hit when it first came out, but it did gain buzz after moviegoers saw all the rock-n-roll flying scenes, the hot volleyball scene, the hot love scene between Tom Cruise and Kelly McGillis, and, of course, the 'I was inverted' scene above.

The movie was reportedly made after the man who made it saw a photo in a magazine of Navy fliers and said they looked like Tom Cruise. The rest, as they say, is history.
