El Paso is home to a number of historic Catholic Churches. One of them is celebrating its centennial this weekend.

Holy Family Catholic Church was originally founded as a Jesuit Mission in 1916 to care for families seeking refuge from the Mexican Revolution. They are located in the historic Sunset Heights area of El Paso. Holy Family is also the host of St. Sharbel Maronite Catholic Mission.

This weekend, Holy Family will celebrate a Centennial Mass, and then have a dinner and dance. Mass will be celebrated at 5:00 p.m. by El Paso Bishop Mark Seitz. Dinner will be a 10 oz. sirloin steak dinner catered by Cattlemen’s Steakhouse, and music by Bobby and the Premiers will follow. You can register to win the grand door prize, a 55" Samsung TV. The second prize will be a round trip in El Paso for two with Pedro’s Luxury Limousine. Only 200 tickets will be sold for the function. Groups of 8 may reserve tables. You can purchase your tickets by calling Holy Family at 915-532-8462.
