Fun Easter activities for the whole family abound this weekend. Here's the Official List of Easter Events you and the kids can hippity-hop to, including a parade and free city-wide egg hunts.

Northeaster Parade

The 40th Annual Transmountain Optimist NorthEaster Parade is set for 10 a.m. Saturday, March 31. The procession will begin at Hercules and Diana and proceed north on Diana for about a mile and a half to the former NorthPark Mall site. [Info]

Easter Egg Hunts

● The City of El Paso Parks and Rec Department will be hosting free Easter Egg Hunts Thursday - Saturday, March 29 - 31, at various recreation centers throughout the city.  [Info]

● Freedom Crossing at 1611 Haan Road, Ft. Bliss, will hold its 6th annual Easter Egg Adventure on Saturday, March 31, from 2 p.m. to 6 p.m.  Kids can drop in at participating mall stores and restaurants and collect free candy-filled eggs (trick-or-treat style), while supplies last. Other fun activities, plus "free hugs" from the Easter Bunny. [Info]

Easter Egg Hunt + Recreational Swimming

The City of El Paso Parks and Recreation Department hosts its annual April Pools Day and Golden Easter Egg Hunt Saturday, March 31 at the Armijo Aquatic Center, 911 S. Ochoa St. The free egg hunt, which takes place in the shallow end of the pool, begins at 12 noon. Participants can then swim for free. [Info]

Easter at the Zoo

Eggscitement awaits at ExtravaganZoo. The Easter Bunny and some of his friends will be handing out candy and posing for photos. Watch the Zoo animals go on their own special egg hunts. Saturday, March 31, and Sunday, April 1, 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Free with zoo admission. [Info]

Easter-A-vaganza at Biggs Park

Family fun for everyone, like extreme inflatables and other springy activities and games. Saturday, March 31 from noon to 4 p.m. at Biggs Park, 11388 Sergeant Major Boulevard. Event is open to the public. Admission and most activities are free. [Info]

Mt. Cristo Rey Easter Weekend Hikes

Pilgrimages and hikes up Mount Cristo Rey to the 29-foot statue of Christ will take place on Thursday, Friday, and Saturday morning, March 29 -31. Free.  [Info]
