Chihuahuas Hosting Biggest Easter Egg Hunt in El Paso
If you’re looking for a fun Easter outing with the fam, consider spending the afternoon at the ballpark.
The El Paso Chihuahuas first homestand of the 2022 season includes a day game on Easter Sunday, and Chico and the crew are hosting a good old-fashioned egg hunt.
To my knowledge, it’s only the second time since the team has been in El Paso that they have had a homestand coincide with Holy Week and Easter Sunday; the first time was in 2019.
First Homestand of the Season
The 2022 season gets underway Tuesday, April 12, with a 5-game home stand versus the Oklahoma City Dodgers, the Los Angeles Dodgers affiliate.
Promotions for the week include the first Fireworks Spectacular Saturday, Thrifty Thursday ($2 specials on beer, Margaritas, hotdogs, and popcorn), and Chico's Easter Egg Scramble featuring the biggest Easter egg hunt in the city on Easter Sunday, April 17.
Easter Sunday Celebration
Break out the baskets and show up in your Sunday best and prepare to feast. The team is hosting and Easter Sunday All-You-Can-Eat Brunch on the Patio, but you do not have to purchase patio tickets for your kids to go egg hunting.
Kids 12 years of age and under can participate in Chico's Easter Egg Scramble after the last out.
According to the social media post, the post-game egg hunt will consist of 7,000 candy-and-toy-filled eggs laid out on the field ready for hunting. Plus, since Sunday games are Kids Day Sundays, all kids get to run the bases after the game.
Baseball, hot dogs, egg hunt; sounds like an eggcellent Easter Sunday to me. I’m pretty sure every bunny will have a good time.
