Chef Puga became an overnight local sensation when he partnered with PBS El Paso for a new online feature, Kids in the Cocina, a Facebook Live cooking show for kids to encourage and help them engage with their families in innovative ways that premiered last summer.

The Bowie High School culinary teacher Christopher Puga also runs Bowie’s famous Oso Good food truck with his students. Together they launched a Facebook group called Culinary Camp Puga to get younger children to learn to make simple meals, especially during the pandemic. The cooking camp took off and ultimately lead to a new venture with PBS El Paso.

Chef Puga is now helping to feed families in El Paso by hosting a Virtual Cooking Class and will provide all the ingredients needed for the recipe for free.

El Paso families will have the opportunity to get their kids involved while having a fun afternoon learning to virtually cook pasta and red sauce from scratch with Chef Puga.

The cooking class will be online, and interested parents will need to pick up an ingredient bag that includes instructions on how to tune in for the virtual cooking class.
