Former Good Morning El Paso anchor, Robert Holguin, will be back in town and back on your TV soon. Robert has accepted a job with KFOX 14 to anchor their nightly 9 p.m. newscast. Current anchor, John Purvis, will reportedly be moving to the morning show co-anchor position. El Paso TV viewers will, no doubt, remember Robert's now legendary interview with Tracy Morgan when he was on 'GMEP'.

What a privilege it's been. To work at the best television station in Los Angeles and to be a storyteller on behalf of the people who inhabit this incredibly vibrant place. Trust me when I say that it's been the most rewarding, exciting and at times excruciating decade of my life. But the time has come to turn the page. I'm very excited to be moving back home to the Southwest next month. I'll be working in El Paso again, where I'll get a chance to spend more time with my beautiful family and where I plan to make a serious impact on the stories that are told along the U.S.-Mexico border. As my good friend recently told me, 'No one ever really leaves LA, not once she casts her spell.' And that's true. I'll be back often to check up on my old haunts and to check in on the lifelong friends I've made here. So pardon me as I head out into the night to raise a glass in honor of the Pueblo de Nuestra Señora de Los Angeles. Onward and upward. Hasta luego, amigos.

Welcome home, Robert! We're glad to see you back!
