Lorenzo Garcia, the former superintendant of the El Paso Independant School District, finally found out his sentence for cooking up a scheme to fix TAKS test scores so he could get bonuses, and steering an almost half million dollar contract to his girlfriend.  And he says a lot of this is his wife's fault.

Tami Tafolla was married to Garcia when she found out he was having an affair with Tracy Rose in 2009.  She told our newspartners at KVIA that she tried to work things out for the sake of their 2 children and their 15 year marriage.  Tafolla said she suspected Garcia and Rose were having an affair back in 2006 when he came to El Paso to work for EPISD, and became even more suspicious when she heard that Rose had gotten a contract with the district.

Tafolla went on to say that Garcia told her that she was to blame for a lot of what happened to him because she talked to the FBI.  What a loser.  I really can't stand this guy.  His wife is to blame?  Because she is the one who gave his mistress a half million dollar contract?  Garcia's an idiot.  Tafolla is well rid of him.

Tafolla said she spoke with Tracy Rose a few weeks ago, and Rose told her that she was being allowed to keep the money she got for the contract with EPISD.  That is unbelievable.  The reporter who did the story should have called the TEA, or the FBI, or someone who could explain why that is.  Hopefully, one of the news stations will follow up on that little slap in the face of taxpayers.

So now Garcia is headed to federal prison for 3 1/2 years, and will have to pay a fine equal to the bonuses he got from EPISD.  According to court documents, there are still people who are being looked at for their part in the scheme, and more arrests could be coming in this really sad chapter in the history of EPISD.

So, take a couple of polls and tell us how you feel about all this:
