El Paso’s Iconic Charcoaler To Reopen Next Week
I'll have a #3, an order of fries, and a large lemon Coke, please!
I can't wait to say that again as I make my way through the iconic Charcoaler drive-thru on N. Mesa. The 56 year old burger joint has been closed for almost a year, but their Facebook page says they will be open for business next week.
The restaurant closed in January after the family decided that they didn't want to continue operating it. The son of the founder said that he would be willing to sell the business and name to anyone who would be willing to run it the way it had always been run and keep the menu the same. One of the owner's family members and a group of investors will be picking up the burger flipper and do just that.
The Charcoaler Facebook page is preaching to Charcoaler fans and assures us that the menu will include old favorites like burgers, fries, and shakes, can I get an amen?!
The actual opening date has not been announced yet, but their Facebook page says it will be before Thanksgiving.
