Magical El Paso Home Light Show Celebrates Christmas with Star Wars, Disney Favorites
If you miss making the Christmas-time pilgrimage to the Fred Loya Christmas light show, Rick Carillo wants you to swing by his place in east El Paso and check out his Rae of Light Christmas Light Show.
The impressive synchronized light show takes residential house projections to the next festive level.
Those who take him up on his offer will see his home come alive with thousands of colorful dancing lights and lots of Yuletide Disney magic, which is what his light shows have come to be known for.
Carrillo created the first Disney-inspired show in 2017 as a way to celebrate his daughter’s first Christmas.
Illuminations: Star Wars and Disney Favorites
The 2021 Christmas Light Show, titled "Illuminations," is almost 12 minutes long and features a Star Wars sequence and clips of various animated Disney flicks along with songs from each movie.
His newest creation will run on a continuous loop for a couple of hours most Saturday and Sunday nights through the new year.
Walk Up and Drive Thru
Depending on the day of the week that you visit, the light shows will either be drive-thru or walk-up. Fridays through Sundays will likely be park and walk.
Weekday shows will always be drive-thru and feature selections from previous years, such as “Selena,” “Hamilton,” “Guardians of the Galaxy,” and the “Frozen” inspired “Let It Go.” Audio for drive-thru shows will be broadcast over the car radio on 90.3 FM.
Shows, show times, and dates vary depending on Rick’s whims and work schedule. It’s best to consult his Facebook before heading out.
What to Know Before You Go
The synchronized light shows run on a continuous loop from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m.
