El Paso Family’s Home Light Show Creates Yuletide Disney Magic
If you miss making the Christmas-time pilgrimage to Fred Loya’s house, Rick Carillo invites you to swing by his place in east El Paso and check out his Christmas light show.
His impressive synchronized light show takes residential house projections to the next festive level.
Those who take him up on his offer will see his home come alive with thousands of colorful dancing lights and lots of Yuletide Disney magic, which is what his light shows have come to be known for.
Rae of Light Christmas Light Show
Carrillo created the first Disney-inspired show in 2017 as a way to celebrate his daughter’s first Christmas.
His creations use the latest in projection mapping technology, and feature sequences and clips of various animated Disney flicks and other popular movies along with songs from each movie.
The Disney-inspired “Fantasmic,” Illuminations,” and “Happily Ever After,” as well as videos that highlight scenes from “Star Wars,” “Selena,” “Guardians of the Galaxy,” and “Frozen” are among the shows he rotates.
It’s best to consult his Facebook for specifics before heading out.
What to Know Before You Go
The synchronized light shows run on a continuous loop most weekends from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. They’re all 10 to 15 minutes in length.
Rick asks that you please be mindful of his neighbors. Be respectful of people’s property, and aware of pedestrians and traffic. He asks that you do not block driveways or park in the cul-de-sac.
How to Get There
The home is at 1356 Gema Maria Pl. on the East side off Loop 375 and Pelicano.
