It took a little longer than initially expected, but, Alamo Drafthouse Cinema East is up and running and will officially open Wednesday, March 31 -- just in time for the highly-anticipated release of Godzilla vs. Kong.

Grand opening festivities will revolve around the latest installment of the Warner Bros. MonsterVerse with a “fun-filled night” of activities in the bar and patio area that includes opportunities to take a selfie with Godzilla and/or Kong. (They're actually staff members in inflatable costumes, but your 'Gram followers don't have to know.)

There will also be a wrestling match featuring Lucha Frontera, and meet and greet and photo opportunities with some of the luchadores. The exhibition is a tie-in to the theater’s Lucha Libre theme that features Mexican wrestler posters, masks, and artwork prominently featured on its walls.

Games of Lotería, beer tastings, and live music by local group Tribes will also be part of the celebration according to the event post. ALL events are free to partake in, whether you are there to watch a movie or not.

Of course, a big opening and a big movie starring big monsters deserves a big theatre. One of the theaters Alamo Drafthouse Cinema East will be screening Godzilla vs Kong in is the one tricked out with a 60-foot high screen, Atmos surround sound, and 4K laser projection which they've fittingly dubbed The Big Show.

The new complex, located at 12351 Pellicano Dr. at the intersection of Pellicano Drive and Joe Battle Blvd., is a 10-screen theater featuring all luxury reclines, each with its own food ninja-summoning call button.
