Alamo Drafthouse in East El Paso Throwing ‘Selena’ Movie Party & Art Market

You know the movie lines, her signature dance moves, and maybe you even own a Selena-inspired cow print outfit. (Not judging.) So, how about you show it all off at the Alamo Drafthouse Selena Movie Party & Art Market this Saturday.

Alamo will be paying homage to the Queen with sing-a-longs, quote-a-longs, and a fair amount of bidi bidi bom bom as they celebrate the 25th anniversary of “Selena,” the movie that made Jennifer Lopez a household name.

Yes, you read that correctly; “Selena” was released twenty-five years ago. Show of hands; who just read that and is crying in Spanish at the thought of how old you are now? This guy, that's who.

What Is a Selena Movie Party?

If you've ever wanted to completely lose yourself in a classic movie you not only love but looove, this series is for you.

At an Drafthouse Movie Party, you can cheer, holler and hiss, shout out your favorite lines, and even sing along at the top of your lungs and no one will care because everyone in the theater is a fellow stan.

Props are involved, too.

Alamo is throwing a Selena Movie Party at both it's Montecillo and east side location with several screenings over numerous days, but the Alamo East Saturday evening screening will have a little more Bidi Bidi Bom Bom to it.

Festivities at the Bidi Bidi Bom Bom Selena Karaoke and Art Market will include Selena Karaoke, a "Selena-inspired" art market spotlighting local vendors, and a what I'm sure will be a sparkly bustier and purple wide-legged jumpsuit filled look-alike contest.

You only need tickets to watch the movie.

6 p.m. - Selena Art Market
7:30 p.m. - Selena Movie Party
9:30 p.m. to midnight - Selena Karaoke
10 p.m. – Selena look-a-like contest
