February 25th - Buffalo Soldier Remembrance Day - February is Black History Month, and Hueco Tanks is commemorating Buffalo Soldiers. This all-day event will have activity booths for families that will show you what life was like for the Buffalo Soldiers. There will be all kinds of interactive events for the whole family, and a special presentation about Cathay Williams, a woman who disguised herself as a man in order to join the ranks of the Buffalo Soldiers! $9 for adults (ages 13+), and $2 for children (ages 5-12). No reservations required.
To get to the park, take Montana all the way into the Hueco Mountains then turn left on Ranch Road 2775 where the UFO building is. Follow the road until it ends at the park.
