Beer-Glazed Bacon is a Thing That Must Be Eaten [RECIPE]
Thrillist has come up with a bacon recipe that you’ll want to master ASAP. Given the fresh, original recipes listed on their site, we can see where the name “Thrillist” comes into play, given that BEER-GLAZED BACON is simply thrilling. Forget the Bacon Bowl (though it is fun in and of itself and works as advertised), this recipe is a new twist on a favorite breakfast food, with an adult twist.
The kids can even try it out since the alcohol (unfortunately) will burn out during cooking.
According to their Web site, here’s how to make Beer-Glazed Bacon. Yum!
First, you’ll want to cook up the bacon:
Preheat oven to 375℉. Place 1 pound of thick-cut bacon in an even layer on a rimmed baking sheet. Bake until crispy, about 20 minutes.
Next, make the glaze:
Combine 3/4 cup lager (1/2 bottle), 1 cup pure maple syrup, 2 tablespoons black pepper, and 1 teaspoon salt in a medium saucepan.
Bring the glaze to a simmer over medium heat, and cook, stirring often, until the liquid is reduced by half and looks thicker than syrup, about 20 minutes.
Brush a thick layer of glaze over the bacon and bake until caramelized, 8-10 minutes.
Let cool on a wire rack for 5 minutes or until glaze hardens.
With the Super Bowl approaching, this could be a perfect snack to bring to a party. Or, you could eat it all yourself. We’re betting you’ll probably want to do that. Sharing is overrated.
