El Paso Comic Con returns to downtown this April with William Shatner, Ryan Hurst, and Michael Rooker among the 2020 celebrity guests.

Shatner, famously known for his iconic role as Capt. James T. Kirk in the Star Trek franchise, is this year’s big draw. The Shat, as he’s affectionately referred as by his legion of fans, is the biggest, most famous celebrity guest our hometown sci-fi festival has had to date.

The Golden Globe® and Emmy Award® winning actor is scheduled to appear on Sunday, April 19. The event is already pre-selling photo-opportunities and autographs with Shatner on its website.

Hurst is currently starring as Beta on the 10th season of The Walking Dead, but you may remember him as the grim reaper patch-wearing Opie on the FX network drama series Sons of Anarchy as well. He was scheduled to appear at last year’s Comic Con but professional commitments forced him to cancel.

He will be available for photos and autographs Saturday and Sunday, April 18-19.

Michael Rooker, best known for his roles as the blue-skinned alien named Yondu Udonta in The Guardians of the Galaxy movies, will also be making an appearance that Saturday and Sunday.

Rooker is a Walking Dead alum, as well. He played Daryl’s older brother, Merle Dixon, on the first couple of seasons of the AMC series.

Former wrestlers Mick Foley, Brutus Beefcake, and Greg “The Hammer” Valentine will be coming to this year's event as well. The full list of actors and performing artists can be found on the event website.

El Paso Comi-Con is set for Friday, April 17, through Sunday, April 19 at the Convention Center downtown. Cool, that gives me time to get my Ewok outfit dry cleaned.
