El Paso, Texas stands at 27 new COVID-19 cases, bringing the total to 829 confirmed cases. COVID-19 related death cases in the El Paso area remains at 12, according to the City of El Paso Press Release.

Dr. Hector Ocaranza, City/County Health Authority is urging El Pasoans to please follow the rules as businesses begin to open. We can keep the spread to a minimum if we continue to follow the 'Stay Home, Work Safe' order. If you are caught breaking these restrictions, you can face a Class C misdemeanor, punishable by a fine of up to $500; but additional violations could result in a Class B misdemeanor, which can include a fine up to $1,000 or up to 180 days in jail.

Mayor Margo and El Paso County Judge Ricardo Samaniego are working together to plan out how to safely start reopening El Paso in regards to Texas Governor Greg Abbott's order to begin reopening the state.
