Today Wednesday, December 1, is World Aids Day, and several organizations in town will be offering free HIV testing across El Paso.

With the ongoing novel coronavirus pandemic, it’s important to note that older adults and people of any age who have a serious underlying medical condition might be at higher risk for severe illness. These individuals include those who are immunocompromised and who have been diagnosed with HIV.

According to the CDC, an estimated 1.1 million people in the United States had HIV at the end of 2016 - Of those people, about 14%, or 1 in 7, did not know they had HIV.
