Woman Swallowed Alive by Escalator after Pushing Son to Safety

This is like something out of a horror movie.

A woman in Beijing, China died after falling into a mall escalator, but not before saving her child's life -- and it was all caught on tape.

The surveillance camera footage shows the woman riding up the escalator with her toddler in tow. Then, right when she got to the top and stepped off, a metal panel gave in trapping her momentarily before the metal steps pulled her in. The woman managed to hang on long enough to push her child towards an onlooker who pulled him to safety.

According to the Chinese press, it took several hours for workers to dismantle the machine and recover her body.
