WinterFest 2022: Real Ice Rink Returns, But in New Downtown El Paso Spot
Arguably the Winterfest activity El Pasoans look forward to most is lacing up and hitting the outdoor ice-skating rink. Last year the city experimented with a synthetic ice that got quite the chilly reception.
But that won’t be the case this year. You’ll be skating on "real ice" again.
“El Paso, we heard you loud and clear. This WinterFest 2022, El Paso Live is bringing back real ice to the ice-skating rink – El Paso Winterfest Facebook
And that isn’t the only new thing about this year's ice rink. It will be in a different spot, too.
New Rink Location
The rink will be bigger and in a different downtown location; across the street in the Convention Center Plaza.
Its new spot will not only accommodate the larger solid ice rink, but will allow those who want to skate to conveniently park in the Convention Center Garage, and/or hop on and off the El Paso Streetcar at the stop across from the garage.
Added attractions at The Rink this year include a light show, snow machines, live music on the rink stage every Friday, and theme nights on the ice on Saturdays.
