El Paso Winterfest Is Keeping It Merry and Bright Through January 1
‘Tis the season to shine, and this time of the year no place shines brighter than downtown El Paso.
Winterfest has San Jacinto Plaza poppin’ nightly and making spirits bright with more than 400,000 twinkling lights, oversized decorations, and a 55-ft holiday tree.
It’s easy to see why Yelp named Winterfest one of the Top Holiday Light Displays in Texas for 2022. There’s just so much Christmas in a two-block area what’s not to fa-la-la-love?
The Rink
The ice-skating rink is the perfect place to get that Christmassy vibe and spend winter break with all the Jingle Ladies, Candy Cane Cuties, Ho-Ho Homies, and your Jingle Bell Bros.
Every Friday you can watch and skate to live music on the rink stage, and Saturdays are theme nights on the ice. The Rink is open daily. Hours vary. You'll find more details HERE.
Santa! I Know Him!
"Pictures with Santa" happens every Friday, Saturday, and Sunday at San Jacinto Plaza from 6 p.m. to 10 p.m. Pics with the big guy are free and you don’t have to make an appointment. Just show up, get in line, and smile wide for the 'Gram.
Holiday Fiestas
Holiday Fiestas feature live performances in front of the Lagartos sculpture in plaza. Dancers, singers, and bands; the entertainment is varied and free every Friday through Sunday from 6 p.m. to 10 p.m.
All is Calm, All is Bright
Most of the special programming is on weekends, but SJP is still a festive place to hang out on weekday evenings. The lights are turned on nightly starting at 5 p.m. and it's not as crowded, which makes it a great time to take photos or make a Tik Tok.
Merry Litmas, everyone!
