Downtown El Paso will get a lot cooler beginning late-November.

93.1 KISS-FM has learned Winterfest will get underway the weekend before Thanksgiving and run through the first week of January, 2020.

This year’s Christmas-time festivities will kick off Saturday, November 23 with the city’s annual Celebration of Lights at San Jacinto Plaza. The downtown park will again play host to the full day of holiday entertainment that will culminate with the spectacular nighttime parade featuring numerous floats, vehicles, and walking groups all tricked out in colorful lights.

From the 23rd to Sunday, January 5, 2020, downtown will become a Winter Wonderland of glimmering lights and family-friendly activities that will include an outdoor ice-skating rink in the Arts Festival Plaza, and free classic holiday movies at the Plaza.

New this year will be an extended Sun City Express train route and a Santa and reindeer decoration prominently displayed on the Mills Parking Garage facade that faces the park.
