UTEP’s Production Of “King Lear” Opens This Weekend
UTEP’s Department of Theatre and Dance presents the classic Shakespeare play "King Lear" beginning on Friday, April 22 through May 1, 2016.
King Lear was written by William Shakespeare around 1605 – 1606. The play will be directed by Juilliard faculty member Jenny Lord and will star professional Broadway actor Michael Rudko.
The story of King Lear revolves around the revenge and lies that consume the ailing King when he divides his kingdom among his daughters. King Lear soon descends into madness as his daughter’s battle for control of the throne.
Performances begin on Friday, April 22nd beginning at 7:30 p.m. Tickets are now available at all tickemaster locations and ticketmaster.com. Ticket prices: $14 for adults; $11 for UTEP faculty/staff, seniors, military, groups (10+), alumni (with card), non-UTEP students; and $9 for UTEP students. UTEP’s Department of Theatre and Dance will also be offering discount tickets on certain days.
Performances: April 22, 23, 28, 29 and 30 at 2:30 p.m. April 24 and May 1.
