Julie Child Comes To Life In El Paso Opera’s Upcoming Live Show

El Paso Opera presents Bon Appétit! which includes a one-act operetta featuring Cherry Duke as Julia Child baking a chocolate cake in an episode of her cooking show.

Originally planned for last year, El Paso Opera is moving forward with its Bon Appetit Live Stream show featuring a Julia Child operetta in February.

El Paso Opera had plans to present Bon Appétit! in March of last year, but it was canceled like many other events due to the novel coronavirus.

Since we can’t crowd back into theatres just yet, El Paso Opera will be hosting Bon Appétit! via Live Stream on YouTube.

Bon Appétit! will include two acts: a medley of opera and Broadway selections and the second, a one-act operetta featuring Cherry Duke as Julia Child baking a chocolate cake in an episode of her cooking show.

ACT 1: will include a line-up of opera, art songs, and Broadway selections performed by El Paso Opera Resident Artists using the universal theme of food.
ACT 2: will feature Cherry Duke as iconic chef Julia Child using an actual episode transcription of her beloved show.

Ticket Price:

$25 or pay-what-you-can
While El Paso Opera is asking for the suggested ticket price of $25, the audience member can ultimately choose how much they can afford to donate.

El Paso Opera has also partnered up with Sweet Addiction, and Classy Meets Modern, offering pre-made charcuterie boards and sweet treats to enjoy during the show.
