Three Mayoral Candidates in Las Cruces Mayor Race
After four years, Las Crucens will vote for their next mayor Tuesday.
Three candidates are competing for the Las Cruces mayoral vote this time around. They are
- Gina Montoya Ortega, a Las Cruces bakery owner
- Miguel Silva, who is a community college instructor andDistrict 1 city councilor
- Incumbent Ken Miyagishima, an insurance agency owner who's been mayor since 2007.
Two major issues are on the candidates minds, a city minimum wage hike and the growth of the city. They all have different ideas on how the city should handle business and they are all hopeful for a chance in the Mayoral office. Miyagishima is hoping for another run and hopes the city has seen what he has done for them since 2007.
