One wise legally blonde lawyer once said, “What, like it’s hard?” And if you ask Santa Teresa High School Senior Paloma Del Valle that question, her answer would probably be, it was hard but so worth it!

This past March, Paloma Del Valle was thrilled to find out that she was accepted into multiple prestigious colleges including three Ivy League colleges.

Paloma’s dream to get into a prestigious college all started when her mom would motivate her by putting pictures of colleges on her walls to remind her that she could get into any college she wanted as long as she kept pushing to achieve those dreams.

A video shared on FitFam El Paso showed the journey that Paloma went through to get to where she is today.

“I made sure to start getting involved even at the elementary and middle school level because I always knew that it was my dream to go to a top institution,” said Paloma.

She was involved in NJROTC, and National Honor Society and even participated in the school’s High Q team. She was determined to be as involved as she could be so she could become the first person in her family to graduate from college.

“It just became something that I developed a genuine passion for as I grew older,” said Paloma.

Paloma was accepted into universities that included Yale, Harvard, George Washington University, Cornell University, and more. She is hoping to pursue a degree in Science to become a geneticist.

The decision on which university she wanted to attend was a difficult one but deep down inside, Paloma knew that her heart belonged to Harvard and she shared the exciting news on her Instagram page:

“I’ll be spending the next four years in Cambridge, MA studying Human Developmental and Regenerative Biology with a secondary in global health.”

Paloma went on to say that never in a million years would she think that a little girl who came from Juarez, Mexico would learn English at the age of seven and then years later be accepted into three Ivy Leagues while on a full scholarship!

“I would spend day after daydreaming about what it would be like to get into the ivy and what it would take to get me there. Then by the grace of God, I was able to make that little girl’s dream a reality,” continued Paloma’s Instagram post.

Paloma thanks her little brother, grandparents, and most importantly her mom for always being her biggest supporter!

“Todo lo hice por ustedes gracias a dios, si se pudo,” wrote Paloma.

Paloma is a true example of what happens when you never give up on your dreams despite all the obstacles that are thrown your way!

Now she can finally say the iconic Legally Blonde quote with confidence, “What, like it’s hard?”
