Petition Started to Get Princess Leia Named An Official Disney Princess

I don't know if you know this or not, but to be an official Disney Princess, the character has to be animated. There has never been a live action Disney Princess, but that could all change if some people who started a petition on Change.org get their way.

Carrie Fisher, aka Princess Leia, passed away just a few days ago, but there is already a move on the Change.org website to get her named an official Disney Princess. The guy who started the petition says making Princess Leia an official Princess "would be a wonderful way to remember Carrie and a welcoming to one of Disney's new properties that is beloved by millions."

Disney bought the Star Wars franchise in 2012, but George Lucas did have a moment of seller's remorse about the sale.

Princess Leia is such a badass. I think making her an official Disney Princess would be amazing for little girls. She is clearly a princess, but Leia is such a great role model that making her an official Disney Princess would show just how tuned in Disney is to their Star Wars fans.
