El Paso Animal Services is looking for temporary pet foster homes as colder temperatures are expected in the coming weeks.

If you are a pet lover you might consider taking in a shelter pet especially large dogs who are the greatest in need of temporary housing.

According to El Paso Animal Services, more than 100 large dogs are housed in outdoor play runs. Unfortunately, the department only has a limited number of indoor large animal housing areas and is looking to instead find temporary shelter for them.

Being part of the foster program is free, easy and Animal Services provides everything including:

  • All food and supplies
  • All medical care needed

Interested in fostering a pet temporarily? You can stop the shelter seven days a week from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m.

For those interested in permanent adoptions, Animal Services will waive adoption fees for all dogs over 30 lbs. All adoptions will include the pet’s spay/neuter procedure, microchip, age-appropriate vaccinations, and city license.

For more information on all the services and programs provided by El Paso Animal Services, visit in person at 5001 Fred Wilson Ave., or online at elpasoanimalservices.org.
