One El Paso, Texas family is hoping that a heartwarming letter, written by their children, will help a local shelter dog get adopted. Beware, this story will tug at your hearts!

El Paso Animal Services hosts a “doggy day out” event where dogs that are really struggling in the shelter environment get the chance to leave the shelter for a day to decompress and spend time with Animal Service volunteers.

One particular dog’s “day out” had a positive impact on the family that volunteered to take her out for the day. So positive that the children of the family decided to write a sweet note in hopes of getting the shelter dog, Kali, adopted.

According to a post shared on Rescue Runners' Facebook page, Kali has been having a really rough time at the shelter and was added to the “At Risk” page.

Sophia and Anthony were the two young volunteers who spent the day with Kali and they spoiled her with a bath at Bark Meow n’ Beyond.

Throughout the day, these two young volunteers noticed all the great qualities about Kali and they decided to write a list of those qualities to share with anyone who may be wanting to adopt a new pet. The young volunteers are hoping the kind letter will help Kali find a permanent home.

The letter is titled, “Why We Love Kali” and it lists qualities that include, she’s a good listener, she’s a good cuddler, she is kind and loving, and a couch potato.

Sophia and Anthony snapped a few photos of their day with Kali and it was shared on Rescue Runners Facebook Page.

If you’re looking to adopt a pet, hopefully Kali’s positive “report card” will sway you into adopting her and giving her the furever home she deserves!
