This Texas Animal Shelter Is Overfilled With Pups!
The situation is dire. El Paso Animal Services is bursting at the seams with over 650 dogs across three shelters. Every day, 50 to 70 new pets arrive, filling every available kennel. Without immediate action, the reality is that without proper care, some of these puppies might not make it. El Paso Animal Services is working to a No-Kill shelter but its still a work in progress and it gets harder when capacity gets too high.
This is not their fault. These animals didn’t choose to end up here. They’re scared, confused, and waiting for someone—anyone—to save them. You can be that someone.
Reclaim Your Dog Before It’s Too Late
If your pet has gone missing, act now to reclaim them.
- Unchipped pets are held for three days; chipped pets, seven days.
- Reclaim fees are waived, except for a $12.50 city registration fee.
Don’t wait until it’s too late. Your dog is counting on you.
Foster: Be Their Lifeline
Fostering is one of the most impactful ways to save lives. For these dogs, even a temporary home can mean the difference between life and death.
- Minimum commitment: Just two weeks
- What you need: A photo ID, to be 18+, and to live in El Paso County
Every pet you foster frees up space for another animal who desperately needs it. You’re not just fostering—you’re saving two lives at once.
Adopt for $1 and Be Their Hero
For only $1, you can give a dog the second chance they deserve. But time is running out. This special rate is available only until Wednesday.
- Requirements: Be 18+ with a photo ID
- Browse available pets at elpasoanimalservices.org/adopt
Each adoption isn’t just a new beginning for the pet you take home—it’s a lifeline for the next animal waiting for a space in the shelter.
Time is Running Out
Every day these pets remain in the shelter brings them closer to their last. The heartbreaking truth is that unless homes are found—whether through fostering, adoption, or reclaims—some of these pets will not survive.
