Santa is making a stop in Canutillo Thursday, November 17, to help the Outlet Shoppes at El Paso usher in the holiday season, and he’s bringing carolers, snow, and Chico the Chihuahua.

The magical evening will include free hot chocolate and cookies, face painting, Christmas carol performances by Alderete middle school, Canutillo middle school and the Tedeum group, and a Tree Lighting ceremony that will widen all the little eyes gathered around when Santa flips the switch to light up the fully decked tree.

Immediately after the event, The Big Man in the Red Suit, Chico from the El Paso Chihuahuas, and the El Paso Coyotes soccer team mascot, Max, will all be available for free photos and selfies.

The Tree Lighting Event will get underway at 7 p.m. tomorrow at The Outlet Shoppes At El Paso, 7051 S Desert Blvd, in Canutillo.

I know, it's on a Thursday night, but the magic of the spectacle makes it all worth while.
