New Deli, Sandwich Chains Planning to Open in Far East El Paso
Eastsiders who want to get their sandwich on will have several more choices by the end of the year. And not just a choice of eateries, either. Deli-style, hot subs, and Philly cheesesteaks will all be on the menu.
Three national chains known for their hand-crafted sandwiches are expanding to El Paso. All expect to be open for business this fall, and they’re all either ‘famous’ or tops in the ‘world’ for something.
McAlister’s Deli
McAlister's Deli will be opening their first location in El Paso at The Reserve at Rich Beem, located at the corner of Rich Beem and North Zaragoza. According to its website, McAlister’s is known for their “craveable sandwiches, spuds and salads” and their “famous McAlister’s Sweet Tea.” Online documents show they’re shooting for an October or November opening.
Earl of Sandwich
The “World’s Greatest Hot Sandwich” franchise also plans a Far East El Paso location. According to the company website, the Earl of Sandwich chain is run by a direct descendant of the Earl of Sandwich himself, the inventor of the convenient hand-held meal.
Earl of Sandwich is coming to the Paseo Real I & II properties on N. Zaragoza and Edgemere. They hope to be putting one of their "made-to-order, freshly baked sandwich like no other" in your hand in September.
Charleys Philly Steaks and Wings
Unlike Earl of Sandwich and McAlister's, this will not be the first Charleys Philly Steaks location in the Sun City. The purveyor of "the #1 Cheesesteak in the world" already has two locations operating; one on Fort Bliss at Freedom Crossing and another in Cielo Vista Mall.
The newest location is getting built in the Zaragoza Marketplace at 1830 N. Zaragoza. This third one is a Charleys Philly Steaks and Wings, so along with the Philly cheesesteaks and loaded fries its known and loved for, the new Zaragoza restaurant will also offer wings. It too is looking to open in September or so.
