The City of El Paso has launched online applications for local artists and non-profit groups who can apply for grants from the City of El Paso’s Cultural Funding Program.

Through five categories, the program supports initiatives ranging from the operation of major arts organizations to new work created by grassroots artists.

Starting on April 9, 2015, applicants will be able to access guidelines, schedules, and applications at ElPasoArtsAndCulture.org. The applications are will be due by May 12, 2015. The new online program will streamline the process for applicants who will be able to now log-in, create, and submit their applications and work samples.

On average, 60 awards are made to non-profit cultural agencies and local artists. Since 2007, the program has awarded a total of $2.4 million to the local artistic community and has been cited as a model of transparency by the Texas Commission on the Arts. The program is part of the City of El Paso’s commitment to enhancing quality of life by creating innovative recreational, educational, and cultural programs.
