With many El Paso families still struggling to make ends meet amid the continuing COVID-19 pandemic, numerous school districts and several community programs have stepped in to make sure kids don't go hungry over the summer.

Now an iconic Texas-based restaurant is stepping up as well.

Taco Cabana has unveiled a free lunch program of its own. From now until the end of summer, kids in El Paso can get a bean and cheese taco, chips and queso, and a drink for lunch Mondays through Fridays at any one of the TC's in town. No purchase necessary.

Of course, there are a few restrictions:

1. They are only available to-go through drive-thru
2. To kids ages 12 and under
3. Who must be present in the car
4. And accompanied by a parent or guardian (12 and under shouldn't be driving anyway!)
5. And only between 11 a.m. and 12 noon

"We have been part of this community for more than 40 years, and Texas has been hit hard during these unprecedented times," said Patricia Lopez-Calleja, the company's senior vice president of guest engagement in a news release. "We are happy to offer kids in our communities a free meal they love. We hope we can provide some needed relief to the many families that have been impacted by the current health crisis."

There are 7 mostly-pink locations in El Paso. You can find the one nearest you HERE.
