This El Paso heat has hit record highs. While we try to stay cool, we might as well attempt to do something useful with this heat. That is why you are seeing so many people on your social media feeds trying to bake cookies in their cars.

I decided to jump on that bandwagon and try to bake in my extremely hot car, instead of an actual oven. Not like I would actually use an oven anyway, I leave that to my mom. I usually just eat the baked goods. You know, I am a millennial and stuck at my parents home with two UTEP degrees.

Anyway, last week I set up a plate of store-bought cookie dough in my car. I started baking the cookies at 9 a.m. and took the cookies out at 3:30 p.m. My car smelled amazing, the taste of the cookies, not so amazing. I am not sure if it was the heat, or the pan the cookies were in that caused the cookies to have a hard crust, and an uncooked center.

Either way, I convinced our promotions director to taste the car cookies and he seemed to somewhat enjoy them. I think he was just really hungry.
