The gourmet cookie market has discovered El Paso and they’re coming for our waistline.

Yet another fresh-baked cookie franchise has opened in our city, but I ain’t mad at them. I mean, who isn’t down with more dessert options? Especially when it’s warm, gooey cookies.

The hip-hop themed, California-based brand Cookie Plug is the newest combatant in the #ElPasoCookieWars joining Crumbl Cookies and Tiff’s Treats for control of our sweet tooth.

What distinguishes Cookie Plug from the other recent move-ins is their look. Measuring four inches across and 1 1/2 inches high they kind of resemble a hockey puck.

Or as they describe them: “fat, thicc, and bomb AF.”

Phatties and Purple Dank

That’s the other difference. They’re all in on the hip-hop and cannabis slang and theme. Their “phatties” have names like “O.G,” “Purple Haze,” “Mac Daddy,” and “Snooperdoodle.”

One of their drink categories – one a lemonade and the other purple colored milk – goes by “Purple Dank.”

Then there’s the graffiti street art on the walls and the hip-hop jamz blaring out of the store speakers. Even the box of “fat stacks” incorporates the graffiti theme.

El Pasoans Tell Us Where Their Favorite Murals in the City Are

On the 93.1 KISSFM Facebook page, we asked listeners to share where their favorite mural in El Paso is. We had a few just tell us the location and a few who shared actual photos.

We have made a gallery of those photos that were shared with us in the comment section of this Facebook question.
